Perplexing Times

Luke 21:25-26

And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken

The times we live in are perplex. Jesus prophesied we’d be in a time that is confusing, uncertain, anxious and doubtful. Our governments are faced with perplexity no one thought possible a century ago. Because of the increase in technology and scientific achievements, the world has become more complicated. Everything seems so interwoven that if one thing would fall, it would cause a domino effect. If one government disrupts, the whole world is affected. We see this time and time again. The world is perplexed.

How does one live a fulfilling life in the Lord in the midst of such fear and distress?

The Scripture says that people’s hearts would be failing because of the fear of the times. It causes a stress that is unnatural and causes all kinds of mental problems and even physical problems. The Believer, however, has their hope and rest in the Lord. Their perfect rest and expected end is solidified in the shed blood of Jesus Christ. As the Scripture says, “The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?” (Psalm 118:6).

He is with us and in us. So as the world begins to fall right into the role the Lord has for it to play, don’t fear. Don’t fear for your family. Just press ever so close to the Lord. Lift your eyes to heaven and realize your redemption draweth nigh.

You don’t have to feel perplexed. You can feel assured. Thrive in the grace of God today.

58-0521 - "“Behold, I Stand At The Door And Knock”"

The world's nervous: you hear the president's speech yesterday, and, well, we just don't know what's going to happen; it could happen before morning. Sputniks in the skies, and Jesus said there would be: and everything, the whole world shaking, men dying with heart failure, perplex of times, and stress between the nations. And in that day, He promised to return, and do as He did then: "Little while, and the world won't see Me no more; yet you'll see Me: for I'll be with you. The works that I do, you shall do also."
