Luke 2:14

“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”

In the sermon entitled, “A Super Sign”, preached on December 27th, 1959, Brother Branham said:

“But when it come to the plan of redemption, He came alone; nobody was with Him. He was the only One that could come. An Angel couldn't do it. Another man called His son, couldn't do it. One called something else, a holy virgin, or a holy mother, or—or some saint, couldn't do it. God had to come. "And I'll give you the Sign. A virgin shall conceive; and a baby will be born, and He will be Immanuel: God with us," the super sign. God in His people. God with His people. God become His people. God and man became one. A Sign, a stumbling Block to the world, but a blessed hope for the believer, a Sign that will be evil spoken of.”

Why was the birth of Jesus a time of “good will toward men”? Because it was Christ, the Logos, the Word, becoming flesh and dwelling among mankind (John 1:4). It was Jesus being born who the Father thundered from heaven and said, “This is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased.” It was the super sign that redemption was now come.

Somewhere in the hustle and bustle of the holiday, the Believer can reach through and clasp hold of this wonderful realization, and that is worth celebrating. The time of year or season in which it is praised takes little relevance when compared to the importance and majesty of the occasion. Christ was born, and became mankind, the gift of salvation to be made complete by the giver of good gifts.

What a wonderful present the Lord gave you. It is a free gift, the eternal life of God (Romans 6:23). We have seen the sign, and we accept the gift. Glory to God in the highest, peace on earth, and good will toward men.

59-1227M - “A Super Sign”

And we most graciously, Lord, accept Your Christmas Present, the Son of God to dwell in our flesh, our dust, to live with us, sanctifying His way by His Own Blood, and giving us the assurance of Eternal Life. We thank You. I thank You, Lord, for this great wonderful Present from God, for It is a gift, a gift of the Holy Spirit, all packaged up in the Name of the Lord Jesus.
