Psalm 60:4

“Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.”

The words of President Roosevelt still ring out, “December 7th, 1941, a date which will live in infamy.”  It was a Sunday morning when the Japanese army attacked Pearl Harbor and destroyed much of the American Pacific naval fleet in Hawaii. This attack greatly affected the American people. The country had been lingering on the edge of joining World War II against Axis forces. What happened at Pearl Harbor rallied the American people to take up arms in World War II.

Sometimes what people need is something to shake them and really affect them. As horrible as Pearl Harbor was, it caused the American people to realize they needed to get into the fight. It affected them deeply, and caused them to rally behind the American flag. The war could have had a different outcome had this not happened.

The Lord wants the Bride of Jesus Christ to rally around the banner of the Lord’s army. He wants people’s hearts to be on fire for Him and burdened with carrying the Lord’s banner. The victory has already been won for the Bride. It was paid for by the blood of Jesus Christ. What do we have left to do but rally around the Lord’s banner!

God has set a banner in the ground; the banner is love, and it displays His truth. Will you be rallied to His flag? If we could only join in our efforts to spread the gospel, to show brotherly kindness, to dig deeper into the mysteries of God, what could the army of the Lord accomplish?

Rally around the flag of the Lord today.

And now, in the days of Solomon God had given him His gift, and all the churches rallied around him. The news must have swept throughout all the countries. And I just wonder, in this last days when the Holy Spirit is coming down, and great revivals are hitting the nation like Billy Graham, and Jack Shuler, and Oral Roberts, and many of those great evangelists, and God doing great signs and wonders before the people, would it not be wonderful if all would put their hearts together and rally around that? Why, all the world would come to Christ in one year's time or less. But we just split up in division, and as long as there's shooting at each other, Satan just steps back and lets them unload their guns. So if we can get together, and put our hearts together, our efforts together, and our cares together, we'll get somewhere.
