Genesis 28:10-13
“And Jacob went out from Beersheba, and went toward Haran. And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep. And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it. And, behold, the Lord stood above it, and said, I am the Lord God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed.”

Jacob, son of Abraham and Isaac and heir to God’s promise of Israel, was walking down the stony path to Haran. He was on his way to find a wife. The thoughts of the events that had just occurred in his life were probably very heavy on his heart. He had just deceived his father and stolen his brother's birthright, done so with his very own mother's bidding.  If Jacob would have only waited, God’s plan would have been made known. Instead, he jumped ahead of God, and was now suffering the consequences deceit brings.

He laid down after a day's travel, tired from the journey and most likely stressed from recent events. He dreams a dream that we know as, “Jacob’s Ladder”. He dreamed of a ladder that was anchored in God’s throne and let all the way down, right to his feet. Angels were on either side; all he needed to do was get on and start climbing.

God has a ladder anchored in His throne at the top and anchored in Christ at the base. All you need do is get on the ladder and start climbing on to Glory. Regardless of the circumstances you find yourself in, even as bad as Jacob’s, there are angels that line that ladder to heaven.

Get on the ladder and start climbing to Zion. You may slip and fall sometimes, but those angels will bear you back up. It is a solid ladder, so jump on and start climbing. Keep climbing.

It's hooked around the heart of God of heaven, hooked around the Son of God down here, and we're brought into it. Through the Son of God we ascend to Him. Amen. Oh, my. Then what you scared about? Our promise is hooked between God and Christ, and we're in between them, with Angels... He said, "He will give His Angels charge over thee." And the Angels of God are encamped about those who fear Him. And all up-and-down when we're making this foundation, climbing each day higher and higher, each day brings me one round higher, higher, as I move up, up, up.
