I Timothy 4:7-8

But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness. For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

If you don’t exercise, your muscles will atrophy and you will most likely cause some health problems in the long run. Muscles are meant to be used and worked. Exercise, combined with proper diet, can greatly improve your lifestyle and how you feel. But bodily physical exercise does not exercise your Spiritual health. The Apostle Paul told Timothy to exercise his “faith muscle” in all things Godly.

Godliness means piety and a religious life of careful observance of the laws of God. It is pleasing to God that you exercise yourselves in the Holy Spirit and you become more and more like Him. The more you exercise the more you can handle. The more revelation you exercise the more revelation you can handle.

Are you exercising the right things? Godliness and living according to the principles of the Word is worth exercising, seeing the promise of life that we now have. Exercise yourself in faith. Pump out those spiritual push-ups by staying in the Word. This isn’t “works” alone, but it is the expression of your faith.

50-0815 - “Who Is God?”

Therefore, if you realize that the very God that made the dirt and the earth, and whatever's here, is living among men, where is our faith at, friends? And He said, "These things that I do," when He was on earth, "greater shall you do, for I go unto My Father. Whatsoever things you desire, when you pray, believe you receive them; you shall have them. That's the Creator speaking. Is that right? Then it doesn't lay in Him; it lays in us. Then we, in fellowship, what Adam lost in the fall, Christ restored in His death. (Do you believe that?) to bring man back into fellowship with God. Now, the Church has moved up to that fellowship with God, communion, like Adam had in the beginning in the garden of Eden, taken all sin away, free from condemnation, Holy Spirit cleansing us from all sin. Now, you're free to exercise the next step in God. See?
