I Samuel 16:7
“But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.”

Perhaps you hear the word “sincerity” a lot, and you have this vague sense that you must be more sincere in what you do. But do we really understand its meaning when it applies to our spiritual lives? When Bro. Branham says things like, “You must, if you're going to face God and face the enemy; you must be sincere” (55-0806 - Jesus Christ The Same Yesterday, Today, And Forever). You must believe with a sincere heart. But what does that really mean?

Webster describes it as being sincere, pure, unmixed, unhurt or uninjured, being in reality what it appears to be. Webster also makes the statement, “No prayer can avail with a heart-searching God, unless it is sincere.” Spending many years believing doesn’t mean you are sincere, knowing Messages inside and out doesn’t mean you are sincere, and understanding Scripture doesn’t even mean you are sincere. God looks at the heart, and what He finds there should be what it appears to be on the outside. If He finds us to be doing something inwardly wrong, and outwardly performing the right things, then there is a lack of sincerity. It shows that it isn’t pure on the inside.

With a sincere approach to the Word, we should respond to the Word of God. That is what God will recognize, when you respond to the Word of God with a sincere heart, and act on it. True sincerity can’t produce anything but the fruits that come from the Holy Ghost. God requires sincerity. So how are you approaching Him? Do you have a sincere walk with the Lord?

Let what appears on the outside match what is on the inside. Be sincere.

63-1028 - “Pardon”
I noticing, the other night, in California. I admired the brother for his great stand (Bro Billy Graham); anybody would. If you see what place he's taken in the last days, you will too. And as I noticed those people coming down to the altar, to make a decision, girls chewing chewing gum, boys punching one another, people laughing, that isn't the way to come godly sorrowful.   You must come under conviction. God, send us an old-fashion, pentecostal, Holy Ghost revival that'll bring sin to the root and bring conviction to men and women. Not to say, "I'll go back to the church and I'll renew my fellowship. I'll sign a card." That's all right, but you can join the Masons, Odd Fellows, and anything, and get the same results. But when you come under God's pardoning atonement of the Blood of Jesus Christ, there's got to be a sincerity set in there. God requires sincerity.
