Ephesians 2:8
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.”

Education is the process of acquiring knowledge or a skill. So in reality, when we learned that God is the God of heaven and earth, we were educated on that fact. Education, therefore, is very important, but the challenge is making sure we get the right kind of education and making sure we know not to rely on our education alone. Brother Branham said in the sermon “Moses” in 1950, “I’m not against education. Educations are all right. But people get so highly educated, till they think they know more about it than God does.”

The goal is that we learn and we apply God’s Word in our lives. His Word is Truth and when we know the Truth, we are set free by it. Therefore, we must always come back to the Apostle Paul’s exhortation, that it is by faith that we are saved. It is not of our own ability, our education, or our own wisdom, but God’s revelation to us, our faith. If we rely on our education or what we have learned or know by human intellect to access God, then we could learn false information and disbelieve the Word. When we rely on faith, we believe the Word, because faith rests in God’s Word alone.

The solution to keeping our education right is to be simple in our doctrine. Be willing to throw out the window what you think or believe if it contradicts God’s Word. His Word is first and foremost, and anything to come against it is from Satan. Keep your doctrine, your set of beliefs, simple and in the Word. Don’t allow education to get in the way of following God’s Word. Educate we can, but follow the Word we must.

Keep your doctrine simple.

You say, “Doctor So-and-so doesn’t believe it.” That doesn’t change God’s Word a bit. Remember, you are not saved by wisdom; you are not saved by your education; you are saved by faith in Jesus Christ. Forget about your education. Be simple in your own doctrine.
