Matthew 7:24-27

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

We have, everyone one of us, a house to build upon some foundation. As we live each day and live each moment we place a brick of our lives atop another brick to lay or reinforce our foundation. The Believer must always remember they are not building for this world, but for the next. To build for this life alone is to build on a sandy ground.

Bro. Branham explained in the sermon entitled The Oncoming Storm, in 1960, that there is an oncoming storm to every person born in this world, and it is up to us to be built on the right foundation. He stated, “And we all know that we’ve got an oncoming storm. And the only Wind that I know that can turn that storm will be that rushing Wind that fell on the day of Pentecost.” Which ground have you really built your foundation on? Is your foundation secure?

We must always realize that we cannot have one foot in the sand and one foot on the rock. We must have both feet firmly planted on the Rock. This must be true in our private lives, our public lives, and in our walks with God. Our daily prayer should show we are seeking to be firmly planted in His Word and willing to grow.

Plant both feet firmly on the rock.

Why don't you build your hopes on things eternal? They will never pass away! Build it on Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; all other grounds is sinking sand. Build upon the lively Stone, not something that's dead and been dismissed from God years ago. Build your hope in something now, where God's a living now.
