Matthew 17:20

And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

Imagine, if you will, sitting in front of a mountain on a nice day, and all of a sudden telling the mountain, “Get up and be moved 20 feet to the right.” The mountain lifts up and moves 20 feet to the right at your command. I’ve checked the Greek wording in this Scripture and it literally means a mountain, as in Rocky Mountain. This seems an impossible circumstance, right? The thought may come to the average Bible reader, “Isn’t this tempting the Lord?” This has got to be a tad bit impossible right? Perhaps you’ve tried it once? Don’t feel silly, and don’t let your faith be shaken if you didn’t move Mt. McKinley.

The Scripture is our absolute. The words of Jesus are the lamp unto our feet, and the life to our souls. Nothing is impossible through Christ (Philippians 4:13). There is a very important passage in Scripture that gives us a greater understanding of what Jesus was telling His disciples. I John 5:14-15 says, “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.”

As the adopted children of God being born again and filled with His Spirit, we are made heirs to all that God has for His children. We are heirs to the authority of God. One thing we do not have within ourselves is the power of God, but being made heirs with Christ, we have the authority to claim the blood of Jesus and the power therein. We have access to the power of God.

If you need something from the Lord, have confidence that He will work all things to the good for His purpose. So when you ask something from Him, don’t expect things to happen your way, but have confidence that He hears you and is concerned about your situation. Rest assured your prayers are not going unanswered, but are being worked according to His perfect will in your life. Sickness, struggles, hardships, or whatever the mountain may be before you, He hears your prayers. You have the authority to claim the power of God, and whatever you ask will work according to His will.

Have confidence that nothing is impossible through Christ who gives you strength.

65-0119 - “The God Who Is Rich In Mercy”

And when a man or a woman, I don't care what condition you're in, you've got the authority of God, by a promise, because He is rich and promised to do the exceedingly abundantly. "If you say to this mountain, 'be moved,' and don't doubt in your heart, but believe that what you've said will come to pass, you can have what you've said." You got no power, but you got authority.
