Psalm 100:4

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

When you go to church, do you go with thanksgiving and praise?

Going to church is the fundamental action of every believer. We go to church for correction, reproof, encouragement, refreshment, and most importantly, to worship and praise God. The Scripture says, “Forsake not the assembling of yourselves together, especially now that the day is drawing closer to the end”( Hebrews 10:24-25). It is vitally important that the Believer be in church.

We can often times feel disinterested in church and that is simply because the world is creeping too close behind us. The only reason a Christian would feel disinterested in church is because they are backsliding. Face the reality of your situation. We go to church to praise our Saviour and to hear His Word, not just to spend time with friends and family. All of those things combined, however, make for a wonderful blessing from God.

Enter into the house of the Lord with thanksgiving. Be thankful that you have the time and energy to spend with the Lord and His people, learning more about the Word of God. Enter into the house of the Lord with praise. Always let praise be on your tongue. Praise the Lord and give glory to His name in singing and worship.

Be thankful unto Him and give praise to His name. When you go to church, make it count. Pray for your next church service, make time to get there early and pray, and pull on the Word.

51-0928 - “At Thy Word”

Thank you, Brother Baxter. Good evening friends, my heart jumps for joy when I think that people, I'm living in a day when people are interested enough in God to set in a meeting like this and wait through the afternoon for the evening service. That makes me happy to know that—that our Saviour still has people who love Him that much. And for just a—a service as no more than what ours is; but yet, there's enough interest there and love of God in people's hearts to make them want to set and wait for the services. That's marvelous; I know that God will surely bless you every one.
