I Corinthians 3:16-17
“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.”

In a Harvard Medical School journal, a doctor wrote, “Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that helps regulate sleep and appetite, mediate moods, and inhibit pain. Since about 95% of your serotonin is produced in your gastrointestinal tract, and your gastrointestinal tract is lined with a hundred million nerve cells, or neurons, it makes sense that the inner workings of your digestive system don’t just help you digest food, but also guide your emotions.” In other words, your digestive system also affects your brain function. When you digest poor quality food all of the time, then your brain will be affected. Does this matter to God? It does.

The Apostle Paul tells the Corinthians, “Your body is a handcrafted gift from God, and the Spirit of God dwells in your soul, so be careful how you treat your body.” This is one reason why we don’t put tattoos on our bodies, or put drugs and alcohol into our systems.  Our body is the Lord’s. Therefore, it is our responsibility that we eat healthy, not in excess, and that we exercise regularly and take care of ourselves physically.

Perhaps you need to take an inventory of how you are living your life physically and emotionally. Are you exercising your God-given muscles? Are you doing your best to eat healthy? As you think about those things, remember also to live with balance. Paul told young Timothy, “Bodily exercise does not profit your spiritual health.” Live healthy in all aspects of your emotional and physical lives.

God is pleased when we purposefully take care of the vessels He has given us. Eating right, exercising, and living healthy will drastically improve the quality of your day. Make the most of your day.

51-0717 - “The Manifestation Of The Spirit”
O dear Jesus, You're here, the same lovely One, the Fairest of ten thousands, as the prophet said, the Lily of the Valley, the Morning Star. And seeing this little mother here for the years past, and see her suffering. And as It begin to speak and reveal her heart to her, I felt that You touched her, dear God. And I lay my hands upon her now in commemoration of Thy Word. May she be healthy and well all of her life, in the Name of Jesus Christ.
