Ephesians 5:25-27

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, that he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

You can tell a lot about a man by the type of woman he will be attracted to and try to pursue. It is a direct result of what that man desires and wants. If he wants worldly beauty and things that are fleeting, it will eventually show. If he wants something that is Godly and strong in character, that too will show itself in time.

God did not specially hand craft and choose a people before the foundation of the world that would have a bad character. God chose you because He fearfully and wonderfully made you, to be a glorious church member without spot or wrinkle. He provided a way for you to become that glorious church without spot or wrinkle, and it is not by your own merit; it is by the blood He shed for you on Calvary.

As you go through your day, think about the kind of Godly woman of character God wants to see in you. Do you match up with His beautiful portrait of her? He painted a beautiful picture of what she would look like and then wrote what she would act and talk like. It is all written in the Word of God.

The true Believer rests their hopes on the Word of God being vindicated. It isn’t something that is just pretty on the outside, but something that is real on the inside. The Bride must have that real, genuine character on the inside of them.

Your place in the Bride was reserved and purchased long before any of this world came into existence. Are you walking in His provided way? Are you showing what He is looking for?

65-0429E - “The Choosing Of A Bride”

Character, there never was a character like Jesus Christ. It lives in you and manifests Him. We see it's true. It's not worldly beauty of Him that attracts His Bride. It is His character, the character of the Church, that Jesus looks for; not where it's big buildings, where it's great denominations, where it's big membership. He promised to meet with wherever two or three are gathered together. Truly. That's where the true believer rests his hopes, is upon that Word of God being vindicated in Truth, what is. Choose by His Word, not a worldly-loving group. They hate that.
