Philippians 4:6-7

Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

You have probably heard many times of the story of the three Hebrew boys who were thrown into the fiery furnace. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were condemned by the King for not bowing down to the idol and refused to worship other gods. They were promptly sentenced to be burned alive in a specially crafted furnace. Through the miraculous intervention of the Lord they were spared by the keeping power of Almighty God.

The Apostle Paul gives us reference to the same kind of keeping power for the Bride of Christ. Be careful for nothing, or be anxious for nothing at all, but pray and pray with others to the Lord. This is the key for the Lord’s keeping power to hold you in every situation you will face. The Apostle Paul says when you do this the peace of God will keep your hearts and minds.

Anxiety is a tough thing to deal with; so is depression and fear. However, when you pray by petition alongside others and cast your burdens unto the Lord, this Scripture says the peace of God will keep your heart and your mind through Christ. When you take all of the anxiety, depression, or fear that you are facing, and lay it aside and simply say, “Lord I am going to forsake all of that, and pray” then the Lord will do something special for you.  Your heart and your mind will be subject to the keeping power of the Holy Spirit when you pray and are anxious for nothing. The peace of God which surpasses your mental capacity to grasp will keep you.

Are you burdened with anxiety, depression, or fear? Or maybe you are just facing a difficult circumstance. I’m sure the three Hebrew boys were probably facing a little anxiety, but it is evident they were anxious for nothing, and stood up to the King and stood for the Lord. The Lord stepped in on their behalf and kept them by His power.

Hold to the keeping power of Almighty God in your life. Rest in His ever capable arms.

63-0801 - “A Paradox”

The Hebrew children. Now how would you make science believe today that a man could go into a furnace? Oh, I would be afraid to say how many Fahrenheits hot it was; but could go into that furnace back there, in the Book of—of Daniel, and stay in that furnace until they thought that he, they was all burnt down to ashes. Which, even the man, the great army of soldiers, great husky man that moved out there to—to throw them in the furnace, those man that went in there perished, by the intense heat of the furnace against them. And they fell into the furnace, and was down in there for all this time, and come out without even the smell of fire on them. God, performing a miracle! That was a genuine paradox, of the keeping-power of God, against any enemy, when a man is ready to admit God is true. And God keeps His Word and honors those who believe in Him. Certainly I believe in a paradox.
