John 1:1-5

In the beginning was the Word and the word was with God, and the Word was God, the same was in the beginning with God, All things were made by Him: and without Him was not anything made that was made. In Him was life and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth into darkness, and the darkness comprehended it not.

Every human being is alive and well by the power of the Holy Spirit, whether they choose to believe that or not. The process of how a newborn baby grows in its mother's womb and comes to life, then reaches out and takes its first breath remains largely a mystery to modern science. It is God who brings life into existence. God is life.

In the beginning, there was the Word. Everything that God was, He poured into Christ, the logos in the Greek. The Lord Jesus Christ was life and that life is the light of, well, you. The only life that you have is because the light of Christ broke through the darkness of your existence, by His grace. You are His only because His blood conquered the power of darkness.

There is no darkness anywhere that could ever snuff out His life. And His life is in you.

There might be some days when you feel like you are surrounded by the darkness of the world. It may seem like that every day, if you step outside your home at all. Sometimes, you can even feel like that in your own home, if you have let entertainment take a predominate role in your everyday activities. It can just feel kind of dark sometimes.

The Word is the light that shines into the darkness, and it separates the darkness from the light. The atmosphere changes as soon as you turn on a sermon, or open the Bible or a Message book. The darkness is simply vanished because the light is shining forth.

The life of Christ is sealed into the Believer, and it will shine out and quench every darkness that tries to cover it. You must stay in the Word and allow the presence of the Lord to shine out in your life.

Are you allowing the light to shine forth? You don’t have to be in the dark. Just let the light shine forth. Let Christ have the preeminence in your life.

63-1229M - "There Is A Man Here That Can Turn On The Light"

65 And I believe that's God's way of doing things. He… in the Bible, the next verse says, the 4th verse says. "And He separated the light from the darkness. And the light He called 'day,' and the darkness He called 'night.'" And God's Word always separates Light from darkness. See? It's the Word that does the separating, see, Light from darkness.
