Psalm 143:3-8

For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead. Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is desolate. I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands. I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah. Hear me speedily, O Lord: my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit. Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.

There are some days where you can feel so overcome by the enemy that you can begin to doubt your very experience with the Lord. Evil spirits begin to swirl around and doubt begins to arise. Your mind starts to work on the negative side, and you feel as though you are surrounded by evil. This is a trap of the enemy.

A born again, Holy Ghost-filled Believer will always experience the pressure of the enemy. Your unseen enemies will always seem to be there somewhere, trying to attack you. It is similar to what King David felt as he wrote in the Psalms, “...therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me: my heart within me is desolate”. There is only one weapon, and place of peace and safety, from an enemy that is not seen or in plain view. Christ is the only answer. The Lord is never out of arm's reach.

When you are in a place of desolation, and you feel as though you can’t resurface to catch your breath, trust in the Lord. Reach out your arms to Him, bow your head and pray to Him, or just breathe His name. The Lord is near to those who are oppressed by the enemy around them. The Lord is a very present help in the time of trouble (Psalm 46:1).

If you need forgiveness, ask Him for it. If your heart is broken, let the Lord begin to rebuild it. Just let the presence of the Lord burst through the cloud cover and dry up all the fog. Begin to sow good seeds. Meditate on the Word. Listen to a sermon. Let the wings of the Lord surround you.

He isn’t as far away as you feel. Just let the Holy Spirit come around you, and create an atmosphere that He would be welcome in.

Lift your soul unto Him today, and let His presence surround you.

60-0805 - “Lamb And Dove”

And today, what we need today is another experience. What we need today is a re-coming again of the Dove, and settling upon the church, and leading it, and opening up our eyes, and getting inside of us, so we can see the manifestations of His Presence. Oh, if we could all, every one in here just set aside the old goaty, doubty feeling away from us, and let the Dove come in tonight… And when the Dove, feel It flutter down into your heart, take Its place. It hasn't gone very far; it's just setting up there on the roost somewhere, waiting for you to come back. It didn't go very far. It'll come right back.
