Deuteronomy 1:8
“Behold, I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give unto them and to their seed after them.”

To possess something is to own it and have it as your own. You own the thing outright when you possess it, but you have to take it to possess it. When the Lord tells the children of Israel to possess the land, it was not that they just had it, they had to go and take it and fight for it. When they disobeyed God’s commands, they wandered in the wilderness for over 40 years because they simply did not possess it the first time.

In the same way, God has given us our land to possess. It may not be a physical land like the children of Israel, but it is still up to us to take it.  The Holy Spirit is our possession, He is our Token; when we possess the Token and are born again, we hold the promise. All of heaven is behind you when you possess the land and live courageously in the Spirit of the Lord.

Every promise in the Book is yours when you have the Holy Spirit dwelling inside of you in a new birth. You might not be able to explain it by logic or science, you may not be able to explain the perfect formula for how you “possessed” your land. You may not even fully understand it. By revelation of who Jesus Christ is to you, you took possession of the promise of the Holy Spirit and have access into the Kingdom of God, in the presence of God.

Be strong and of a good courage in the presence of the Lord. You can climb any mountain, push through any river, travel through any valley, as long as you have the promise of God living itself out in your life. Go and possess your land. Live free in the Spirit of God.

I can’t tell you how Divine healing works. I can’t tell you how a black cow can eat green grass and give white milk, but I drink it anyhow. I don’t try to find the formula of it. I don’t know what causes the Holy Ghost to fall in a meeting and people speak in tongues and prophesy, cripples jump up from the wheelchairs, and sick gets healed. I can’t tell you that. Only thing I know: God has promised it and it’s our possession.
