1 Timothy 2:1-2

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

Today is Presidents' Day; a day in which we honor the President of the United States, and past presidents, for all of their hard work and labor for our country. Regardless of what country you are from, the Scripture gives us clear direction as to how we should treat our nation’s leaders.

The Apostle Paul tells us to pray, petition, and give thanks for our kings, and those who are in authority over us. Pray that their edicts, their laws, and their agendas will cause us to live peaceable and quiet, Godly lives. Pray, so we wouldn’t have to worship the Lord in secret, or do something wrong; pray for them. It would be hard to criticize the President, or your nation's leader, about whatever issue or circumstance is at hand, and then pray for him. You can’t pray for and criticize someone at the same time.

We should be thankful for our leaders, and what they do; however much we disagree with them. We don’t see the hard realities of life behind the closed doors of the White House, and the hard decisions and sacrifices that are made on our behalf; however bad the media may portray their motive or objective. We also do not have the luxury to see the tender hand of Jehovah, guiding the footsteps of the nation’s leaders, to work His will on earth. Even in the bad things that happen, and the wrong things that are done by our government; we know that God is working all things for the good to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Let us trust the Lord, that He will never forsake the righteous. And however much we disagree with the policies and outcomes of the leaders of our nations; we must still follow the leading of Scripture, and the Prophet, and pray for those in authority.

Thank the Lord for the Godly men down through history; who have served this country, and given us the rights and privileges we have to serve the Lord.

"55-1006A - A Hidden Life"

That's fine. Shall we pray. Our Heavenly Father, we thank Thee today above all things for Jesus Christ, the Son of God, Who died at Calvary to redeem us back into this wonderful fellowship. And we are very grateful for His blessings on us at this present time. Now, our beloved president of this country… And we're grateful to him, Father, for when he was brought in, the war's ended. And now it seems like the peace talk is settled in Russia and many great things. And we love him, Father, as a leader of our nation. And we hear that he's had a heart attack, and we understand that he's a Christian and he loves You. And to him, Father, we're—we're grateful for all he's done, and we need such a person this day as a—a leader in our nation.  And as brethren together, we offer a prayer to You for his deliverance, that You will heal him solid, soundly well, that these afflictions upon him will only be brought around to draw him closer to You to know that all he must do is to rely upon Thee. And may he hurry back to the White House, Father. And may all the days of his reign here on earth, may there be peace among the nations. Grant it, Lord.
