Isaiah 64:8
“But now, O Lord, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.”

Because our Father in heaven is not a doty grandpa, but a real father willing to correct us and discipline us, we must be willing to receive that correction. Being willing to receive correction, for some, will be a lifelong pursuit. It is far better to realize that He is the potter and we the clay than to fight and struggle against His molding and shaping our entire lives. He is the Father and God of all, and we are simply clay in His hands to work His purpose and plan into a masterpiece, according to His perfect will.

The first step in this process is to realize that He is God and Father of all. How can you willingly submit to someone you don’t have faith in to change you? You have to give yourself entirely to Him and surrender to His leading, trusting that He will finish the good work He started in you. The second thing is to be willing to do what He says to do. You have to believe that you are the clay and He is the potter. He knows the next move, the next job, the next step to take, you simply have to seek His leading. Then, thirdly, when you believe and trust in Him and have yielded to Him, you must obey Him. Obedience is what a father requires, and so is it with God.

Be honest with yourself. Is God really your heavenly Father? Is He just someone you hear about on Sundays but you don’t completely know? Then wade a little deeper into the water and have a relationship with the Father. He will run to you as the prodigal's father ran to him. You only have to come with the right attitude of faith, yielding, and obedience.
He is a good, good Father.

Be in prayer. I just feel… I don't know. I just feel that someone's not just exactly honest with yourself. And if you won't be honest with yourself, how can you ever be honest with God? How could you? God bless you, sir. You… If you, in your own heart know that you're not living a joyful, peaceful, life of the Spirit, yielded to the Potter, everything just wonderful… God's on the scene. And you won't be honest enough with yourself to come receive it, how could you be honest enough with God? See? Come down.
