Hebrews 9:12-14

“Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?”

We can imagine the young family going to the temple bringing their prized lamb for the sacrifice. The man then giving it to the priest and going through all the rituals required for the offering. It must have been reassuring that the man and his family could walk out of there knowing that their sin was no longer committed to them but to that sacrificed lamb. It can be hard sometimes to believe that our sins are really gone when things in our past still plague us and, for some, on a daily basis.

Bro. Branham explained in the Token in 1963 that Cain’s fruit offering didn’t have the right life from the right source. It couldn’t appease God’s requirement for sin, because nothing with real life was sacrificed. God said the same thing to His people in Leviticus 17:11, “For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.” The blood of the lamb that Abel offered, which was revealed by faith to him, was the token that an innocent life had been given. That is what God required. The blood signified that the life had gone out of the lamb. In the temple, all the sinner had to do was identify himself with the offering, and the life coming out of the lamb proved that an innocent substitute had taken the sinner’s place.

Many times, we take for granted the shed blood of Jesus Christ. We get so caught up with the cares and toils of life that we forget that the offering was made. If we are truly born again in Him, we have been identified in the perfect Lamb who was slain. It is the most essential thing to the Christian that Jesus shed His blood for us. You must have this token applied. You cannot have access to this token unless you actively walk in the Truth of the Word of God in this day and age. (1 John 1:7).

Walk in the Light as He is in the Light. By this, you can rest assured that you stand justified by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ. It was by faith that Abel offered a more excellent sacrifice. All the redemptive blessings from His shed blood are yours today.

63-1128E - "The Token"
168 Sure, the Blood speaks, It speaks a better thing. The Old Testament, the blood spoke of guilt. In the New Testament, It speaks of redemption. In the Old Testament, it spoke of death and sorrow. In the New Testament, It speaks of resurrection and Life. It speaks of healing. It speaks of joy. It speaks of Power. It speaks of Life. It speaks of Heaven. And that same Blood that was shed upon the ground, that called out after his dead brother, or called out after his brother that had killed him. The Blood of Jesus Christ covers all of our sins, and speaks peace and resurrection, and Power and Life, and healing. And all the redemptive blessings that the Blood was shed for, It speaks for us. Certainly, the Blood speaks. Oh, my!
