Genesis 17:5

“Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.”

Abraham was a person no different than what we are today. He was subject to like passions as we are, experienced trials, and suffered tribulations like we do. Sarah, his wife, was no different than we are today. She had the same troubles and hardships that many of us would face. Even though it may be a different time today, the enemy is the same. But thanks be to God, our refuge from the storm is the same.

We can become distanced from the men and women of the Bible if we aren’t careful and forget the fact that God can deal with us in the same way if we just give Him the opportunity. God deals in the lives of ordinary men and women. The Bride of Christ is made of peculiar people who struggle through life’s many trials.

As you go throughout your day, understand that the Lord is there for you just as much as He was for Abraham and Sarah. You don’t have to be some great somebody to do something for the Lord. You simply have to be yourself and let the Lord do the work in your life.

60-0302 - “From That Time”
25 Let’s take some men that met God, that changed their destination of their-their generation. Let's take for instance, Abraham. He was just an ordinary man. He was not a saint. He was just a man. And oh, I'm so glad that we don't have to be bored in a certain line, or-or be some great somebody. We just have to be humble. God’s grace is what does the work.
